Default POLL!!?? Flip VS UCD ?????

I have been following a couple of posts around this subject, and noting the possible differences of opinion implied by the term 3D. I tend to consider 3D falling into two categories for fixed wing - 3D aerbobatic, which I consider to be a pattern or scale aerobatic aerocraft designed or altered for 3D manouvres, and then 3D Fun Fly, which is likely to be a mid/low winger fun fly model which does outrageous 3D manouvres but is not practicaly for smooth flowing aerobatic manouvres.

Anyway, the Flip 3D arrived on my door step in January last year, direct from the factory ni China - I was to do a review on it for the british magazines. My conclusions in short that this was the most accurate 3D Fun fly I had ever flown (and Ive flown a few), most notable for its good knife edge and reasonably pure yaw control. For me this model has come the closed to bridging the Fun Fly / 3D Aerobatic gap to date, but it is still a 3D fun Fly at the end of the day....
The reason the article, which was very complementary, has not be published yet, is because the Kyosho importer for UK has failed ot pull it's finger out of it's arse and get them in !! When and if they do it will be a massive seller, but I fear they are too busy trying to push their own brand stuff...
The only criticism I had as far as I recall for the model was the colour scheme - a love it or hate it scheme I think, and definitely not for me. The underneath is nice though !

By the way - whats a UCD ?

Also, have you seen the thread on the New Products category about 56" 3D Aerobatic Wonder? I flew a prototype this weekend and its bloody great.... Now that has been designed to bridge the 3D Fun Fly / Aerobatic gap, but this time with a bias toward aerobatic that huge fat section fun fly. Prop hangs pretty good too and with a rearward cg does some mental TOC style manouvres - just a bit quicker thats all.
Another prototype fittd with YS 63 and metal gear servos (just to make it as heavy as we could) came in just under 5lbs. The lightest model with an Irv 39 was just indeed 4lbs !
Take a look at the thread and more info will follow some time in the next couple of weeks.
