RE: Model Number progression of ys 1.20's
NC supercharged well yes it is but not quite like some of the other YS engines. The supercharger effect comes from the compression of the next "charge" on the down stroke of the piston. The rear disc valve on the carb controls this. On the 120AC, the 120SC, the 140L, and all the DZ motors they have a crankshaft ring that seals the case area off from the bearings and such forward. This gives a smaller area and "more boost"
The NC is a "Non Chamber" motor so it doesn't use the valve cover area to help store that extra supercharged load for the next cycle so...yes its supercharged like all YS engines but its on the mild side of the spectrum. The 120NC is a very good engine and there are lots of them out there being used by guys in the 60 sized Warbirds They make for a great combination. I had a Topflight P-47 with a 120NC in it and it was awesome.
Bluemax,
go to Central Hobbies website. They have the exploded views of all the engines under the YS engine Parts section. You can compare drawings to find which one you have. Also I spoke to Richard and they are working on the new website. It should have some of the manuals for all the engines as a PDF so you can print it and keep it with the engine. This is handy for part numbers and so on.
