Yeah, it would probably only be worth it if you went in with a couple other people to split the shipping cost. Your best bet is probably to find a local seller that sells good packs at a reasonable cost. It can be a crap shoot trying out a new brand...I started out by trying this sellers cheaper & smaller packs with my #4. If you have a micro heli, you could use the same approach to see if a particular brand is any good.
That's one problem I also ran into...batteries that were too long to fit in the stock canopy. For the pack I'm using, I had to move the canopy forward about 12mm by moving the lower grommet back...I don't use the top one.
