....been there, done that....I started out with a 10-6 APC prop on my F-20. I
though it
was doing Ok at first. Then I checked the RPM with the tach....a miserable 14,000 revs. I put
a 9 1/2-6 MasterAirscrew on it and it tached 18,100 and picked up 15-20 mph....
no contest.
The 10-6 APC was a Dog prop if I ever saw one. Now I run a 9-7 Zinger and it is a tad faster.
The best thing about the APC prop was, it kept the speed down to where I didn't have any flutter.
Since I got the plane running about a buck and a quarter, I had to eliminate the rudder, and even
re-do the nosewheel.....among other things.
I have the long pipe Rossi turning close to 20 grand in the air, on 5% ....heh heh.
The 10-6 APC is a Dog prop....great for trainers and 4Star Fourty's.
14,000 rpm with a 6 pitch prop is what....85....90 mph ???
