Default RE: FS one by Horizon Hobbies

ORIGINAL: riotgear

FSOne is in need of patching asap. I wish you guys at FSOne would improve the usability of the product. Here are some of the usability issues that bug me.

* UI for changing wind direction speed is unnecessarily complicated. Why not allow this to be changed while flying and let me type in the wind speed and select the direction. As it is, you have to go through a long list of speeds coupled with wind direction. This is horrible.

* Make it easier to choose the starting position for the plane.

* Allow me to fly my plane while receiving instruction

* Allow me to select a new plane with out having to leaving the flying area and go back to the menu.

* Include a wind sock that is movable

FSOne has a lot of potential, but i needs a lot of polish. It's pretty annoying that it hasn't been patch in a long time and it still feels like beta software.
We are working on another patch -- it is underway.

Regarding changing wind: Once you have selected a wind, you can change wind direction in real-time by using the - or + keys (on the main keyboard region) and you can change wind speed by using the Home and End keys (hold them down since there is fine control of wind speed -- if you keep them held down, you'll see the wind speed change). You can also toggle on the Wind Direction Pointer by pressing the W key. This will show wind speed and direction.

You can get a real-time help overlay by pressing the / key (which is also the ? key). Repeated presses of the key will cycle through multiple help overlays. First there are descriptions of keys and functions, followed by key maps.

We'll look into your other suggestions for future patches -- these are some good ideas and we've added several of these to our ToDo list.

Thanks for your feedback.
