Default RE: 1/12 ME-109E & P-51 Mustang

Hi formerlyknownasAWB,

A buddy of mine built two HOB P-51s

One with small Robart retracts and flaps. Turned into a really nice looking Hangar Queen. Ended up too heavy and the retracts would only survive a perfect landing on pavement. (the wheels are too small for grass strips)

The other one was built with no landing gear, three HS-81s on ail/el/throttle. With an O.S.FP.15 and a 2oz. tank it is a nice flyer.
I believe it is just under 2.25lbs. It belly lands onto grass (or snow!) just fine. He has patches of duct tape under the nose and the belly scoop. The silver colour scheme is kind of hard to see in the air. The D-Day invasion stripes under the wings show up well.

Hope this helps.

Take care,
Have fun,
