We used to have the 49th FIS here at Griffiss AFB, and every once in a while one of the F-106 pilots would come by and watch us fly.
I remember one of them telling me that you did not under any circumstances get into a turning dogfight with a 106...because you would scrub off speed very quickly and become a sitting duck.

They were though, one of the fastest fighter aircraft in a straight line that the Air Force ever had...[8D]
