When I hooked my lines I got the ( red for down ) on the same side,red on the right side and on top same side, not X over like the picture shows. Bob my be right, put that line under water to see the air flow when you retract the gears, they should all go up hard or slow not at a diferent speed and yes, the valves are very sentive, when you adjust one the other one has to be adjusted.

I "T" the mains and the lines whent to the side of the valve, the nose lines when to the top of the velve.
