RE: Question about Battery
tonywp has a Hobbyzone Super Cub RTF airplane. It comes with a 7-cell 8.4V 1000mah NiMh battery as the standard flight pack. tonywp has purchased the recommended upgrade battery that Hobbyzone offers, which is an 8-cell 9.6V 1000mah NiMh flight pack. The problem is the power connector on the battery doesn't seem to match the power connector to the Super Cub RTF's electronic speed controller.
The upgraded 8-cell battery is a Parkzone part, and not a Hobbyzone part. The Super Cub comes with a brushed Speed 480 electric motor that can certainly handle the extra voltage, but you will need to mate the power connectors between the two.
My recommendation is to replace the power connector on the battery to match the speed controller.
Good luck and good shopping.
