RE: 06 mc
Without question there is a market here for an engine like the OS Max 6mc. People say 1/2a is dead. Well the only reason is the lack of engines. Cox, Norvel and CS are all out of the game. Norvels are starting to sell like gold when you can still find them. I know full well that OS can build an engine that would run with a Norvel in quality. Expanding on what Rog stated above it's not a matter of making a few hundred I know that there is no way to offer a barstock engine in runs of only a few hundred and be able to get the price down to within reason. If I want to spend $200 on an engine I would just get a Cyclone 1/2a. It's a matter of making thousands. I am but one person alone and I would use severel in very short order. Have an engine that can make some power i.e. turn a 4.5x4 prop at over 20,000 or a 6x3 at 18,000rpm and lets get a racing class opened back up i.e. sell more engines. We have a small group her in NC that fly 1/2a. Rog is also a founding member. There is maybe only 20 of us but between just us we own several hundred 1/2a engines. I myself have over 80 NIB Cox .049's just because I am afraid of the lack of supply down the road. Iwould dump them in a heart beat for a better engine! That Max 6mc is one GREAT looking piece. Come on they already have the tooling for it. What does it take the CNC machine center 2 minutes to machine that case!!
