mosquito bomber full size construction?
Good evening guys! I've been working on a Bob Holman 124" mosquito bomber for,, well,, seems forever! LOL As I've researched lot's of info on it,, the full size construction technics are very interesting! The fuselage is a sandwich,,if you will,, of plywood on both sides and a balsa filler in the middle? is that true? with war time materials being so hard to come by,, the all wood airplane made sense. My question is,, was balsa really used as the sandwich fill? and if it was,, how'd they get so much? Balsa is grown in the tropics,, and shipping it would have been dangerous with the u-boats sinking everything in sight! Any and all comments are welcome! Thanks!
