Ok, thanks for the help so far man

I tried a 12v charger with an output of 1300mAh - in otherwords I tried to charge my battery 100% within an hour using some crap I jury-rigged.

Some cords melted and needless to say it didn't work...FEAR NOT THOUGH, because the battery was intact! A quick drive to my local tv-shop and I came home with a multi-voltage charger.

it's now sitting on 7.5V at 500mAh and "trickle" charging slightly faster than it would be with the original plug it came with. It seems everything is OK now and the tank will be workin in no time.
