Default RE: 'Tiki' build thread

well, the tough bits are happening. Having to get this tank right without aftermarket stuff is testing my mini fabrication skills. The stowage bin is a challenge, making hinges and supports etc. Well this is what I have so far, as always they seem to look better innatural light. The bin basically need to be made larger and tangential to the turret curve. I used plastic card and some brass sheet I had. For the lid hinges and clips, just chopped up brass angle, i liked the bent and used effect hey gave as opposed to neat and new looking Aftermarket etched stuff. These things get battered and twisted over time and that is the effect I wanted.

Next is to paint the stowage area, fit decals and give the tank one deep and dark flat wash to age the paintwork. I am not going for any battle damge, just the curled fender on the RH side as seen in pics. Just chipping and a few rust runs and she will be done on the outside.

Jose, can you confirm these 'mushrooms' are the turret pivot points??? I think that is what you mean?

cheers
