STORYTIME!!! A night with my blade cx2


I was flying around outside last night with no wind. All of a sudden a gust! Luckily I was around 6-8 ft high and could catch it safely as the wind flopped my bird around like a ragdoll..LOL I thought wow that was fun, lets keep flying. A few minutes later another large gust grabbed it and again threw it to an imediates left rear movement. Fighting the sticks I got her under control with just a little effort and was flying pretty. I though to myself, hey I have gotten a lot better than I give myself credit for. Well I landed in front of me and grabbed a drink real quick then up I went again. As I noticed the pack getting weak I was coming in for a smooth landing. Just as I got about 12 inches from the ground here came another gust. I gave her some gas to lift her up and away from the concrete so I could catch the extreme tilt I was getting from the wind and when I realized I wasn’t gonna make it and I backed out of the throttle. I still had enough blade speed to snap not one but 3 blades off..LOL

I hated breaking blades because that ruined my record. I have been flying my cx2 since before new years and haven’t broken a blade from flying yet. I did break one putting it in the case one night though. Oh well it was bound to happen. Luckily I have 2 bags of uppers and lowers sitting on the shelf!!
