No. They are definately Chineese. They just use Taiwan for the factory as labour costs and the skilled workers are there. I know it says Made in Taiwan on the box. This also helps with keeping import taxes down.
.
Don't be mean to sound rude but I felt I needed to chime in and clarify something, the Taiwanese should not be considered Chinese, quite a few of the Taiwanese people would not refer to themselves as Chinese. It would be similar to calling an Australian a British Person. Though they may be of the same ancestry, technically it's not the same thing. I am only saying this because I am Taiwanese. It doesn't really offend me, but I just felt people shouldn't just go out and say oh your taiwanese, so that means your chinese!!
And the part about the skilled labor cost, is a little off. There are actually Taiwanese Businesses that go to China to setup factories for production, as the labor cost in China is cheaper. This is especially true for some of the RC airplane companies. Though the owners may be Taiwanese they will go to China to setup the factories for ARF production.
But yes, OFNA is the US distrubutor for Hobao/Hong Nor, (Jammin) car kit, unfortunately I am not sure who their dist are in other countries. Also the Hobao Hyper ST does look like an awesome truck. Seen one in person at the track, its a little smaller than most other truggies. It's more close to the size of the Kyosho in terms of wheelbase, width, etc.
