Default Help wanted: Properly setting up Phoenix-35 with an AON 3500kv motor in a T-rex 450 SE!

Here is the situation (I am guessing fairly common): I have a Phoenix-35 Brushless Motor Control (made by Castle Creations) powering a "Vertical Series" 3500kv motor (made by AON Electric) in my T-Rex 450 SE (and the USB programmer for the speed controller). The problem: It spontaneously cuts out (both low AND high rpm) [] . I believe I have ruled out radio glitches / faulty wiring, etc... I emailed the Castle Creations help desk and their response was " Make sure to select the following: current limiting is disabled, soft cutoff, low advance timing (if using an outrunner motor)".

OK, so I did this... And it still does it [:@] !!! Can someone with lots of knowledge and a little compassion help this pilot get back in the air? I'm obviously looking for recommendations for setting up the speed controller for this motor and, if you know, for a medusa 3400kv motor as well. What about the Align 3550 motor? Since they are all about the same KV, shouldn't the speed controler be set the same? I thought learning how to program the radio was confusing!!!

Thanks.
