Thanks Martin for taking the time to photo document your progress. You have a splendid Tiki there. Excuse my ignorance, but what are these slits in the turret???. I would like to detail my Tiger as well

No problem, the slits are on the side of the turret, as shown below. uhu tells me a dremel or similar is an easy method.
