Default RE: ACE R/C 4-40

I agree it would be nice to have them back either in KIT or ARF form. Like I said I cut the dihedral way down from the plans to increase aerobactic capability, but it also retained ease of landing. With a steady head wind around 10 MPH I could flare a landing and land it at a full stall and all it would do is set down on the wheels. It also flat spun great. Yes I know cutting down the dihedral allowed it do this but even then it was easy to put it into a flat spin and hold it and just let it decend until you wanted to recover.

I think the biggest thing that made them so nice was that they did in deed fly on the wing and not the engine. The plane was not a snap rolling wonder nor would it perform tight fast aliron only rolls and no way it would even approach the 3-D manuvers of today. It was als not designed for that. A friend of mine built the 4-120 after I built my 4-40. He also let me fly it a couple of times. Man was it nice.

I lost mine because I messed up. I pushed how well it flew to close to the deck and took it out.
