nothing special for the wood itself and that will be my latest option if I don't find it on the web.
I'll try first with strong paper to verify geometry and functionality.
Also did you ever tried to glue some "isolation rubber" on wood. It's never working.
I have used sticky backed foam for sealing around doors as padding on stands before with no real problems. Not as pretty as these, but functional... If it's the glue issue holding you back, just build one and try a few different foams until you get the right one. All you have to lose is a couple of nights work and the cost of a chunk of plywood... My best guess on the glue would be a polyurethane glue like the Elmer's Pro Bond or Gorilla glue. Stuff sticks almost anything to anything.
