Wooden props are at least biodegradable when you chew them to pieces and spit them all over the landing strip. Wooden props are also easier to balance than plastic props, sanding down a fiberglass prop is no fun at all.
If you want some good propellers for a .46-sized engine on a trainer, you should look at the Nexstar props that Hobbico offers. They're $1.99 each for 11x5 plastic props and they come almost perfectly balanced right out of the package. These Nexstar props are cheap and good and ideally suited for a .46 engine on a trainer.
