Hi!
As you are new to R/C I would suggest an .40-.46 two stroke engine. Remember you are going to crasch some of these first airplanes so you want a sturdy reliable engine and this OS is famous for.
I suggest you take help from people in your club as you will crash within seconds if you try yourself.
I agree to that statement and reinforce this thought.

Also a High winged airplane is better to begin you R/C career.
I started like many others on a low wing trainer. I know at least 5 pilots in person who got trained on the H9 P51 PTS. Their flight training was not longer then the guys with the high wing like the Avistar or Nextstar.
If you are in trouble you just let go the sticks and the high wing levels out – no biggi and no brainer. Other the PTS you have to fly the plane and even with flaps down she flies nice inverted.
The training is not as boring for the student as well for the instructor. We had some guys in the club – they said “a war bird low wing trainer --- never ever” Well, after the took the radio and some rounds on the buddy box they would not let go…hehehehe
With the training gear off this plane flies fast and predictable. It is a first and second plane 100%.
Now H9 has a semi Jet as trainer – I can already imagine how many heard attacks this plane causes when the student shows up with this airplane.
Happy landings[sm=thumbup.gif]
