Just take a screw the same size as the blind nut and coat it with oil. Screw it into the blind nut, which will apply a coat of oil to the threads in the blind nuts. Now you can glue in your blind nuts. If you get some on the threads the glue won't stick as the threads have been oiled. I usaully seat the blind nuts in place and screw them in tight to the wood with a bolt and washer, then I go back and apply the epoxy to the back of the blind nut and the firewall.
