Canaan, NH? Now there's a place you don't see every day. [X(] Spent all my summers in Center Harbor from the time I was about 6 until part way through college. My first R/C experience was running a boat on Lake Winnipesaukee. I remember working lots of hours to save enough for a 4 channel MRC radio. I used it in a few boats, a car, and then in my first plane.
No Way!, Dude I learned to swim at Camp Lawrence on Lake Winnipesaukee...glad you spelled it first I was only 4 at the time so I couldnt remember it...actually I was one of those kids that wouldnt get their face wet....they took us out to chest deep water and dropped little plastic bags of candy at our feet..all the other kids bent down to pick them up....I picked mine up with my toes!!..but by age 5 I was on the swim team at the YMCA..at 14 taught swimming lessons and was a lifeguard there....Rog
No way dude! Who'd a guessed? I almost got a job driving boats there! When I worked for the company that ran the Mt Washington and a few other boats, the guy who was the pilot of my boat, the Doris E, used to run the boats at Camp Lawrence. He was working on having me take the job but I ended up not returning to NH that summer. We used to take their ski boat out early in the morning when the water was flat. I went over 55 mph a couple times behind that boat.
