you can buy a hardened clutch bell, and I would think the wear would be good, I run a hardened traxxas bell, with alumnium shoes, but I havent had to replace the main gear yet, I know you can also get a nylon gear that is much more durable then the plastic, it may be worth looking into. I would take your gear into a hobby shop, there is a good chance they can match one up for you. Also I am not sure, but I think you should be able to get a alumninum gear. That with a hardened bell, there would be no wear at all, even not hardened you would have very little wear.
