The gap you have should be a non issue. Most two piece wings have some samll gap. Question? Did you use plenty of glue (epoxy?) to join the wing roots together? This can be an issue later on.
I would recommend you talk with your friend and see if he has an iron or a heat gun. Shrink that covering down, you'll be happier with the end result. If no heat gun than use mom's hair dryer, it'll work, just take a whole lot longer.
I'll talk to mom about it... but she may have issues with sending it 3500km's away LOL... I think we have a hair dryer actually and I was going to ask that down the road. Later on I'm going to get a heat gun but until I start building kits(or need to recover this plane, a hair dryer will do.
I did use plenty of glue I think... I probably mixed 2 notches of glue out of each epoxy bottle for the joining. I spread it all over the rib on each side of the wing and on the joiner as well as in the hole as specified in the instructions. I can't see why this thing would separate. My thought is, if they can make some wings hold with just tape(like the arrow(although I heard it separates on people in mid-air that way)) I'm sure I have more than enough glue plus I'll have the finishing tape over the wing joint.
Thanks a lot. I'll keep updating as I go today. I'm still intimidated by the build but a lot less now that I've put the wing halves together. It isn't as bad as I thought.
