RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread
Nitr0-is-Deadly:
Your not testing two comparably equipped vehicles. Your MT2 is stock and the Revo is stock - but the Revo is running a 3.3 (.20) engine. That is quite a bit more than .15. The MT2 with the SS package would be more of a comperable test.
For the $499 that you pay for the Revo, you could get the MT2 regular and another 99 bucks for the 18 CV-R from OS and then they would be closer - or get the SS for $327 then get a Futaba 2pl for $99. Then you would have a fairly close race and also have a radio that is fully adjustable.
Try testing those against each other.
You will find that the MT2 is kinda fast in this configuration.
The last that I would say on this, is name one race that a Revo has won at the national level? MT2? Neither have - enough said. Even the Tamiya TNX beet the Revo in the small block Monster Truck Nationals last year with David Jun driving. Right after that race Traxxas pulled from this market and put the 3.3 in the Revo and put in the third diff. They are good bashing vehicles that can raise the brow or two of people if they are setup properly.
Not really sure why Traxxas owners feel the need to tell everyone how "FAST" their vehicles are. If you like it - great - glad you bought one, but I had a Traxxas before and will never own another. Too many reasons to post here, all I can say is that they pay too much advertising to RC Mags that feel compelled to tell us how great their vehicles are.
You want to race and win - get a Jammin or Losi Eight. (Remember with the third diff the Revo is a Ulimited Monster Truck now)
Me personally - I have owned an MT2 for three years and love it. Maybe you should sell yours.
