Sure, just give it enough power!
Seriously, some planes are better suited to floats than others. For example, a Piper Cub on floats is cool, a Gee Bee on floats would probably be a nightmare.
The reason I ask is because I'm learning to fly my PT-40 and when I get my wings, I would like to fly off the huge lake close to my place. I'm running an os 40FX. Would I be better off with the 46AX??
