If I were going to travel on a plane with it, I would remove the boom, and find a smaller box big enough to fit the heli, TX, and a few tools. I would probably cram the batteries and chargers into my camera bag. It would be much more convenient than lugging around that big Align case or similar.

For day to day travel, the bigger case would be better because you don't want to constantly have to remove and reinstall the boom of course...
