RE: New truck
Since you're not getting any responses, I'll throw in my 2ยข here. I've never had a truggy myself, but I can understand the attraction. They're big, pretty durable, fast, great offroad w/ 4WD, and handle well. They're also expensive. I have heard mixed reviews of the Kyosho 1/8 RTRs, however have not had one myself. The Jammin seems pretty good, though more expensive, and the radio is a throwaway. Depending on local race rules, you may or may not be able to use the stock engines, and the stock AM radios may increase the risk of frequency clashes. Say you're looking at $350 bare minimum for the kyosho to about $600 for a decent raceworthy upgraded package for the Jammin.
On the other hand, maybe think about a Stadium Truck. I know, they're smaller, 2WD, and not as capable for bashing in gnarly terrain, but, they're cheaper, simpler, and can often be more durable. If you start with an RTR package from Losi or Associated, you can have a truck capable of holding its own in local racing for $300 or less. Just something to consider if you are more interesting in racing on the cheap than specifically looking to get a truggy.
