I think in Genral Nitro's Shouldn't be drifted for that very reason the High RPm can Damage the engine no matter what engine is used..
Drifting, in its very nature is harsh on Nitro's which is why eletcrics reign supreme and Brushless motors even more so, its the wear that they place on a Nitro Motor thats the Bad thing..

The Only thing you can do is run her rich and hope for the Best ..
