Hi All,
I'm working on a new pano and the FAQ suggests several file formats for the tiles. One of which is dds. My Photoshop CS2 doesn't come with the ability to save a dds, so I found a Photoshop plug in at the Nvidia website. I downloaded it and installed it. So, when I choose "save as" in Photoshop and select the dds file format I'm presented with a dialog box that asks what settings the dds should be saved in. I'm cluesless as to the requirements of FSOne for this file format and the FAQ doesn't provide any direction. Does anyone know? Or does anyone want to share a profile that I can load. Thanks, Scott
Hi Scott
I do not know the Photoshop plugin as I used a the dds plugin for the Gimp. Mine did not work until I found that the FS One dds files are saved with DXT1 compression (the default for the Gimp plugin is no compression). On your screenshot I see that DXT1 is already selected, so I would guess to save the tile down with the default settings as they appear in your screenshot. I would also suggest to tick the option not to generate mipmaps.
Hope this could be of help. It's lovely to fly around on our local field in FS One! Here are some shots of my first attempt at creating FS One pano scenery:
