Hi Scott

Gimp is quite a good free graphics editor with features very similar to Photoshop. I like it quite a lot. One can download Gimp from [link=http://www.gimp.org/]www.gimp.org[/link]. The DDS plugin is available at [link=http://registry.gimp.org/plugin?id=4816]http://registry.gimp.org/plugin?id=4816[/link]. When saving a dds file down with Gimp, leave everything as default in the saving options but select DXT1 compression.
