ducted fan flight sim
I know a few ducted fan models are already available on G2 and so forth, but, I wonder how accurate they are. Considering how far rc jet modeling and rc in general has progressed, it almost seems ironic that a far better rc flight sim is not yet available. I haven't tried an rc flight sim just yet, however, I have tried all of the "high end" flight sims (FLY!, FUIII & MS2002) and in these sims I hardly get a sense of real flying. They're great to learn instrumentation, but, otherwise feel like just a game. Hence, I've been skeptical to purchase an "rc" flight sim until I see a dramatic improvment in the ability to make a computer plane actually seem like it's really flying. Getting back to ducted fans in computer simulation, wouldn't it be great to have a sim available that truly re-creates how different jet models fly? In other words, one that could virtually imitate the way a Yellow A4 lands in comparison to an Avonds F15 (landing) for example. Also, as I was reading about the new Ripmax sim, I whole-heartedly agree that a computer sim should imitate air currents and conditions as experienced in nature. Obviously the more complex we can make our sims, the better off we'll be at the flying field. It'd be great to see things like gear and servo failure options as well. So how about it computer geeks,...how many more years will we wait? I'll step down now.
