Furthermore, the magnetic field concern is valid, but only if (as the poster said) there is a metallic object inside the loops that you are creating around the wing mount, it should be expressed as an 'electromagnetic' field concern, though. Small detail, anyway, he's right, you shouldn't 'wrap' your antenna around anything in loops, it will cause range loss, and erratic signal at longer ranges (longer ranges than the drivers stand to the back straight, but even so...), this is advice directly from the manufacturers of the radio equipment. I'm sure some racers are getting away with it without a problem. I wouldn't do it though.
