Default RE: Super Vee 27 Radios

Yeah I got mine running with a 3PM, and now I don't worry at all. One guy came along, and asked "what if the boat runs out of the range of the radio?" I told him that the pond just isn't that big. It's nice to know.

I too had a stock radio that worked so well that I wondered what all these guys were talking about. Then, on the 13th run (spooky huh?) it started acting like someone else was operating my radio. Of course there was nobody else at all around, much less anybody with an RC transmitter (my freq scanner said so).

You gotta think that it's just bad business to ignore this many complaints about exactly the same problem. I guess when the rest of the boat is so good that they have no direct competition, complacency sets in.

It would be REALLY funny if the NAMBA spec class mandated use of the stock radio with only frequency crystal changes allowed. After all, if there really is nothing wrong with the stock radio why should they see any problem?

Maybe NAMBA doesn't want to sanction a demolition derby on the water...
