RE: Question for Excelleron 90 owners
Mine is just about ready to maiden as well, It's been a long time coming. I bought mine 6 moths ago, but work and evrything else possible has gotten in the way of the build. Along the way my LHS had another one in stock and I nabbed it for $150. So I have another in the box. Once I see how this fly's and what tweaks are needed, then I'll build up the other one with the changes right from the get go.
Then again, if I can get my hands on the new remedy 120, I may seel off the 90 and build up the remedy.
I choose at least for now to leave the elevator as is. Frankly I don't see a problem with the counter balances. I strung up every thing with the included pull pull hardware and it all is working very smooth.
I took it out for balancing this weekend and wound up way nose heavy. But then I almost expected that, you see I have a GS2300 1.4 2 stroke up front with an aluminum spinner on it and APC 16 X 10 prop. I'm using a on board glow driver system and that along with the receiver and battery were located behind the CG former.
So I sent A PM to AreoBob asking about his battery setup and went with cutting a hatch in the tail and locating the battery just forward of the horizontal stab. I'm using a 5 cell 2500 mah Ni-Mh pack.
I'm a little heavy at 9lbs 6 ozs, but frankly I don't see that as a problem either.
some pictures og the battery hatch.
the maiden should be this weekend just before I leave for RCX
