It really depends on what you want. The blade can be an indoor heli, and if that appeals to you then the upgrades might be worth it to you. Something like the TRex is a more capable heli, but cannot really be flown indoors. It would also cost you about $500 to get one of those, compared to $100 to $200 to upgrade the blade depending on what systems you end up going with.

BTW I don't know where you are at in your flying... but if you are not to aerobatics... you could probably just hold off for a bit, do some more reading, and then decide when you are there.
