Hey,

I'm going on vacation. When I get back, I'll post some pics of the M-1. There're one or two on RumRunners, but they just show the hull with the rudders and strut on it. Search under M-1 if you're really interested - it's boring so far.

Here's a breakdown of the cost. Keep in mind that I'm using the same speedo for two boats (P-Mono) so I don't have to buy one of those. I'm using the same two sets of Lipos for both boats though I have several set of Nimh's that I'll also use for practice. My experience has been that if I combine uses on this stuff (admittedly mostly with airplanes), my cost goes down. Can't easily use the same motor for more than one boat, but I can easily use the same batts and speedo. I also, of course, use the same Tx. I bought it used and it came with 5 rx's so I never have to worry about that either. All my boats are the same channel - 76. Actually, I got a Spektrum setup and two spectrum rx's plus a pcm module for the same radio and three good rx's, all the same channel. Anyway, I think that used stuff is the way to go with the possible exception of motors.

I hadn't added this up before and I'm almost ashamed that it's so much higher than I thought it would be. Well, remember that I had a bunch of that stuff already e.g. the hardware and misc., etc. Whew, I'm glad my wife doesn't know about this. I wonder what this'll add up to in $/mph? You know what? Doesn't matter one lick. I work very hard and need a bit of peace. I get it by building these things. And then I get a bit of fun and adrenaline from running them. It's worth every bleeding penny. JH
