Default RE: 110 problem

110 common places,

The airbox can leak, carb-backplate, valve cover, front pushrod tubes, Intake pipe

The airbox can leak especially if the bolts are over tightened, and not tightened evenly. this can warp the air box. If this happens you can lap the surfaces using some 600grit wet paper on a flat plate. I use a thick chunk of glass. Do this after the parts are disassembled completely. when done clean with soapy water, dry then clean with denatured alcohol. Perhaps you need a new air box gasket. Clean the mate surfaces with denatured alcohol. when its dry then assembly it dry.

Same goes for the carb. If it gets over tightened it too can warp. Same procedure for lapping its mate surface. The idea is you don't want any of those little bits of metal in the engine. So when done clean with soapy water, dry and then clean it with denatured alcohol.

The steps above are only for people that know what they are doing. If you are nervous or question what you are doing then don't do it. Let the professionals do it for you.

Air leaks can be in various places...Anywhere there is an O-ring, or a gasket it can leak. This is why there is an o-ring or a gasket there.

I just counted an Oring set for the 160DZ There are 14 o-rings in it. This is every O-ring in the motor. If any of them leak you could get the symptom you have. I don't have a 110 oring set or gasket set in my hands now but this number is close.

A gasket set there are 4 gaskets in a DZ160 set any of them leak and you could get the symptom you have. So I just gave you 18 places to look as there are 18 seals.

Common places....valve cover, air box, carb gasket, regulator gasket/diaphragm if you still have the one piece version. All newer 110's have gone back to the diaphragm-gasket as separate parts.

chances are one of these is leaking.

Assemble these gaskets and O-rings dry. Clean the mate surfaces with Denatured alcohol and assemble it dry.
