Default RE: Sig Hog Bipe Build

I don't know how some of you guys manage to build planes that weigh so little.
My Hog Bipe is ready to be covered.
The engine and flight pack are installed for pictures and CG check.
Being curious how much Koverall and dope will add to the all up weight I hung it on the fish scale and it is 7lbs 15oz.
It may hit 8 1/2lbs flying weight by the time it is covered and painted.
I have seen many posts stating ready to fly weight at 7 1/2 lbs, I just don't see how you can do it without major material substitution.
I resisted the urge to beef up anything with the exception of some triangle stock at the gear mount plate and I went easy on the epoxy this time.
Maybe I will switch back to the aluminum landing gear since the Dubro weighs more but even then I am still well above many people's flying weight.
