rick, nice to hear your tax $$$ is being put to good use down there. there are 3 big private clubs in my area, however i'm sure most of the pilots wouldn't mind having sacramento fund a public field. we have plenty of inactive bases with non-op runways that can be used.

btw, that's a novel way to launch a glider, lol. most would have a buddy pilot the glider until the tow is landed, but your method definately sounds more entertaining to me. are you using a pcm to set neutral on the glider until you land? i've been waiting for a few of my buddies to get good & confident enough to tow my spirit elite glider up with my aerostar 60 trainer (scale style towline release setup on both planes already). i doubt i'd be successful trying to set a neutral pcm on the glider using a towline; for one the towline release operates off of my glider's elevator linkage.
