you might also want to make this boat wider...like Taylor said, they are lose in the turns, they are really only good for straits...i think giving the sponsons a sharper angle will also make it sink into the water a bit more giving it better grip...the riding surface of the sponsons on my drifter is almost flat...
yes But Alex having a wider hull is very very good that is why my scat cat will ride past a drifter in every corner and most strights because of this. The sharp angle on any boat is there to let the water ride off with out and turbulence and to hold it tight in the corner. Like you said your ride pad is flat on your drifter. this is the same on the drifter L ( you have the XL ???) it makes skip. If they were a little bit deeper and on a slight angle to the out side it would be the difference of night and day.
