I was actually going to use Joe from that Slimline series for a pilot. They're pretty close to scale.


If I were to do anything different I would have glassed it. Everybody talks about how much more work glassing is. Not for me. So far I've spent twice as long trying to use monokote then actually building. If I'd glassed I'm sure I'd be done way sooner. I hate monokote, I'm sure I've wasted at least two rolls trying to get it to look right. I hate working with it. For me it took all the fun out of building the kit. I actually had a lot of fun glassing the wing center section. I'm definitely glassing my next warbird. I don't care if it comes out heavier.

I'd take sanding and painting leading to a beautiful finish anyday over monokote leading to a finish that WILL form wrinkles, eventually.
