RE: ASP 180 fs
By the way I had mine to peak at 9300 rpm yesterday on Volk 17-6 wooden prop, Both head shims removed and valves reset, running 15% nitro 15% synth. That`s 200 rpm more than when stock, and on par with stock engine running 30/23 wildcat. These big Magnums really love nitro and runs stronger the more nitro they get, that`s why I removed shims so it will run great on lower nitro. I have no difficulty getting mine to idle at 2000 rpm. On 5% it peaks at 9100 rpm with the above prop. It seems as ASP have adapted their new engines for the American market in the ability to run high nitro.
