Default RE: .40 size GP RV-4

I left the C.G alone, But I did give alot more throw in the tail. The Recomended throw just is'nt enough in the rudder and elevator. It flies well it just does'nt like to do stall manuvers such as Snaps and spins or knife edge.

I gave the Elevator 3/4" more throw than in the plans and gave the rudder 1" more, this seemed to help. The nose of mine still falls out of a knife edge but I am pretty certain that it's do to the small engine. I don't think you have this problum if you give it a little more throw.

I did set the ailerons at the recomended range. I have a two postion flap switch so I set the first position just a little more than the recomended low rate and then set position 2 a the high rate. You don't need more than the low rate position, more flap causes the Eletator to lose efectivness on final, it does'nt stall in the tail, but you run out of elevator in the Flair.

One more trick I learned, is to bend your landing gear a little bit more, This will stand the plane at a higher angle of attack and will help make landing it easier![8D]
