Don't forget to get a bigger carb, the standard one supplied with the 31cc will lean out at high revs and cook the motor.
As for your Talon contact, can you confirm if the Talon engines are the same as Homelite. A quick inspection shows them to be visually identical.
I hadn't even thought of a Homelite mainly because I have this Ryobi 28cc sitting here. But now that you mention it ,if that's the case with them being the same then I could be onto a good thing.
