thanks for the info agexpert. I just feel like I get more for my money with the Hitec servos. What servos are you running in your ST 90? I have the rudder servo already; HS-5645MG. I figured it would have enough torque at 6.0v. I cant decide between an OS 1.20 or a Saito 1.25 for it..any suggestions in that department?
I am running the same servos, (except an 8611a on rudder), and a Saito 1.25. The OS is not enough and is a bit heavier. One of my flying buddies used it. The 1.25 with a 16 x 4W is BARELY enough to pull out of a hover. I would look at YS for 3D pullout.
I use a Fromeco 7.4V 2s 2400 pack and a Fromeco reg. for power. NiMH's will be fine at 6V, just more weight.
This is my last glow plane and I will keep it around, (in fact I have another ST .90 ARF built and ready to go for the gear that's in my current ST .90). I have pretty much moved to gas. There is no comparison. BUT, ....my ST .90 is the plane that worked-up the confidence to fly multi-thousand dollar toy airplanes....PLUS a lot of help from my freinds.
