Got started on my Skybolt on Sunday and it is coming along nicely. Got both wings together, tail feathers glued on, and landing gear components put together. Put the center strut mount on as well.

MikeL was right about the checkerboard covering. When I separated the ailerons from the wing the strips of tape holding them pulled the clear part of the covering away from the colored part.

So far everything has been easy to do.
