I had landing gear problems and I've heard of a couple more people who had problems.. IF you fly off grass, I would simply cut the landing gear off and put foam pads ( on the wings about 1") to protect the bottom servo on the wing. IF you fly off hard surface I would not install the landing gear and buy some stronger CF gear. The stock landing gear is very flexible and it will break off eventually ( or in my case, the 2nd flight )
