RE: Super Skybolt ARF
Well, I have my skybolt all done minus the engine. I am still putting in a O.S.91, but that will have to wait another week I guess before I get it. Everything went to gether great from start to finish with no problems or hang ups.
Since this is my first smoke system I have ever done, or I should trying to do, I would like any input about a few questions. I will try my best to explain how I am planning on doing it and see if this sounds like it will work or if I should change something.
I put the stock fuel tank in the spot the plans called for and I put the smoke pump right below the fuel tank on the floor of the plane. The tank and smoke pump do not touch here. Then the plans call for you to glue a piece of stock wood in, just in front of the servo tray, and use this to strap your Rx and Rx battery to. Well I just screwd the stock wood in and put the Rx and Rx Battery in that place, but I put them on the other side so they are against the top of the fuse and below the stock piece after I screw that piece on. I do have foam all the way around the battery and Rx to protect them as well.
Now I still have the empty spot where the Rx and Rx battery were to go and instead I am putting a 10oz. tank their for my smoke tank. I strapped the tank, more or less, just like the plans call for you to do with the Rx and Rx battery. I also strapped my smoke pump battery to the bottom of the smoke tank. Everthing seems to fit real nice this way, but now to my questions.
By doing it the way I stated above does anyone forsee any problems this way. Also since I do not have the engine in yet I can not check the balance. So I am also woundering if anyone knows if this setup will or may cause a big balancing problem. I know the balancing question will be answered once I install the engine and check it myself, but I was just woundering if anyone mite have a good idea.
